Bhajan Lal Sharma, Diya Kumari Join BJP Protest Over Women’s Bill Defeat in Jaipur…

Date:

JAIPUR, RAJASTHAN — Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari participated in a protest organised by the BJP Mahila Morcha in Jaipur, following the failure of the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha.

The protest was held to voice opposition against parties blamed for blocking the Women’s Reservation Bill, which aimed to ensure greater representation of women in Parliament and state assemblies. Leaders and party workers gathered to express their dissatisfaction over the bill not securing the required majority.

During the protest, BJP leaders подчеркнул that the bill was a significant step toward women’s empowerment, and its rejection represents a missed opportunity to strengthen women’s participation in governance. They accused opposition parties of standing in the way of a reform that could have benefited women across the country.

Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha members активно took part in the demonstration, raising slogans and highlighting the importance of political representation for women. The protest aimed to mobilise public opinion and bring attention to the issue at the grassroots level.

Both Bhajan Lal Sharma and Diya Kumari reiterated the party’s stance that women’s rights and representation remain a top priority, and assured that efforts will continue to push for the bill’s passage in the future.

The demonstration comes amid a series of political reactions across the country following the bill’s failure, with leaders from the ruling party and opposition trading blame over the outcome.

Political observers note that the issue of women’s reservation has become a central political theme, with parties using it to connect with voters and shape narratives ahead of upcoming elections.

The protest in Jaipur reflects the BJP’s continued push to highlight the Women’s Reservation Bill as a key issue, while placing responsibility for its failure on opposition parties and advocating for stronger representation of women in politics.
