Rays Power Infra Strengthens Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Grid with 300 MW Solar Project

Date:

Jaipur: Renewable energy company Rays Power Infra Ltd. has announced the successful commissioning of a 300 MWp solar power project in Rajasthan along with key transmission infrastructure, including two 400/33 kV pooling substations and a 16.6-kilometre 400 kV extra-high-voltage transmission line.

The integrated project significantly enhances Rajasthan’s renewable energy infrastructure by adding more than 1 GW of power evacuation capacity, improving grid connectivity and supporting the efficient transmission of clean energy across the state.

The newly commissioned project combines utility-scale solar generation with high-voltage transmission infrastructure, enabling seamless integration of renewable power into the national grid.

Project Highlights

ComponentDetails
Solar Power Plant300 MWp
Pooling SubstationsTwo 400/33 kV substations
Combined Transformation CapacityOver 1 GW
Transmission Line16.6 km, 400 kV
Grid ConnectionFatehgarh 400 kV Substation, Rajasthan

The project has been executed on a turnkey Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis.

The two pooling substations have a combined transformation capacity exceeding 1 GW, enabling the collection and transmission of electricity generated by the solar project.

The associated 400 kV transmission line connects the substations to the Fatehgarh 400 kV Substation, one of Rajasthan’s major power hubs.

This infrastructure is expected to:

  • Improve renewable energy evacuation.
  • Reduce grid congestion.
  • Enhance transmission reliability.
  • Strengthen power supply to the national grid.
  • Support future renewable energy additions.

As India continues to expand solar and wind power generation, efficient transmission infrastructure has become increasingly important for delivering renewable electricity to consumers.

The newly commissioned project is expected to contribute to:

  • Better integration of renewable energy.
  • Improved grid stability.
  • Increased transmission capacity.
  • Faster clean energy deployment.
  • Reduced transmission bottlenecks.

The project also aligns with India’s broader renewable energy expansion and energy transition objectives.

Pawan Sharma, Whole-Time Director of Rays Power Infra Ltd., said the successful commissioning demonstrates the company’s engineering expertise, execution capability, and commitment to quality, safety, and timely project delivery.

He noted that the integrated solar and transmission project reflects the company’s focus on building reliable infrastructure that supports efficient power evacuation and strengthens India’s renewable energy ecosystem.

Managing Director Ketan Mehta said high-capacity transmission infrastructure will play a critical role as India continues expanding renewable energy generation.

According to him, projects like these help prevent grid bottlenecks while improving the resilience and efficiency of the country’s electricity network. Utility-scale renewable energy projects require robust transmission infrastructure to deliver electricity efficiently.

By combining power generation with high-capacity substations and transmission lines, integrated projects such as this help:

  • Maximize renewable energy utilization.
  • Improve grid reliability.
  • Support India’s clean energy targets.
  • Reduce transmission losses.
  • Enable future renewable energy expansion.

The project also strengthens Rajasthan’s position as one of India’s leading renewable energy states.

The commissioning is expected to:

  • Increase renewable energy transmission capacity.
  • Improve electricity evacuation from solar projects.
  • Strengthen regional grid infrastructure.
  • Support industrial and economic growth.
  • Enhance long-term energy security.

With continued investments in solar generation and transmission networks, Rajasthan is expected to remain a major contributor to India’s renewable energy expansion.
